It started with a dress-shopping experience I never want another bride to have.
My own dress shopping wasn't great. The shops nearby didn't have a collection that was for me, and the ones I visited felt rushed and pushy from the second I walked in — three gowns, a corner of the floor, a stopwatch. I kept thinking, it shouldn't feel like this.
Then we moved to Amherstburg, and it clicked. A riverside town at the southwestern tip of Ontario — independent downtown, restaurants that are actually good, a waterfront that pulls people in from across the region, and a calendar thick with year-round events. People drive out for a long weekend and leave already planning the next one. It's the kind of place that deserved a bridal experience to match.
Sixteen years in hospitality before this, and it shapes every appointment. Hospitality teaches you to read people — who's overwhelmed, who needs a moment to breathe, whose mother should be handed a magazine. You build the experience around the person in front of you. So I built the opposite of what I found shopping: a private atelier, a collection deep enough that any bride finds her dress, and a consultant who actually knows what she's looking at.
"The gowns are the easy part. The real work is making sure every bride feels like the only bride in the world while she's here. That's the whole point."
